South Africa: Homeland of the Green Revolution

In our effort to change the world and improve living conditions of billions of people, we have decided to start from Africa, the Continent where the largest part of the world's poor live and that most in need for a radical change in the developmental trend.

And within Africa, Green Age Energy is starting its adventure from South Africa. This choice is due to several considerations:
- first of all, South Africa equals winds of change. The fight South African people have fought to reach freedom and equality has brought an attitude to the Country which is perfectly in line with Green Age Energy's mission to create a new way of thinking development;
- South Africa is where the thought of the most important personalities of the last two centuries have been conceived: Mahatma Ghandi, Nelson Mandela, Desmond Tutu. We want to start where they started, and reach at least a fraction of what they have reached;
- South Africa is where mankind was given birth. We want to give birth to a new Era for mankind starting from the same place.

But there are also more concrete reasons why Green Age Energy has chosen South Africa as its starting point. South Africa has the economic and political environment that can truly bring value to Green Age Energy's effort, as well as the willingness to turn the steering wheel of development in the direction we want to. As stated in the Department of Minerals and Energy (DME) Strategic Plan 2007/8 - 2010/11, goal of the Government of the Republic of South Africa is to provide "services for effectual transformation of (...) energy industr(y) for economic growth and development, thereby improving the quality of life", and is DME mission to do that "for the benefit of all". Specific objective of the DME, reiterated by Minister Sonjica and the DME's Accounting Officer, Adv. Nogxina, is to improve universal access to electricity, focusing on low income (rural as well as urban) households by:
- restructuring the electricity distribution;
-strengthening the importance of alternative energy sources. of energy generation.
